With the newly opened Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles in the South part of Las Vegas, we now have a new location to try soul food, chicken and waffles. Lo- Lo’s is located on the corner of Lake Mead and Rainbow (where Tony Roma’s use to be) at 2040 N Rainbow Blvd. The reviews are all over the place on Yelp for Lo-Lo’s so we want to give you our lowdown on Lo-Lo’s.
The décor is simple, modern, rustic and charming. The service on the first time we went was good. It was super busy and we ended up eating at the bar. The food was served about 20-30 minutes after ordering; however, given how busy it was, we thought this was acceptable.
I had the fried chicken, grits, eggs, waffles and side of gravy and I have to say, it was pretty darn good! My friend had the chicken and waffles and he also thought the food was good.
Now, there are a few caveats to contend with. First, go at off peak times if you need super fast service. The line was out the door on my first visit so it helped that I was flexible with sitting at the bar and understanding the expedition of food may take a little longer. This is a new location so yes, there will be a learning curb for the employees. I have hopes in a few months the service will improve. A specific example is I asked to have my eggs served omelet style and the server could not understand what I wanted so my eggs came out scrambled.
Overall, I am happy with Lo-Lo’s and I look forward to their success in the Vegas community.
